Wax artist based in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, Japan.
Namekata likes stargazing and collecting pictures of planets, the universe, and galaxies. His handcrafted candles are distinguished for the unique combination of colours and patterns like a planet.
The mysterious planet is the motif in Namekata’s candles. When lighting up the candle, it melts from the centre, shaping the candle to become a planet-like lantern as time goes by.
三重県鈴鹿市のアトリエを活動拠点として、キャンドルを製作している蝋工家です。 惑星の様な神秘的な色合や陶器のような重厚さを持った特別なキャンドルを制作しています。
また、キャンドル以外の作品でも蝋の魅力を伝えられたらと日々研究しています。
